DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE (PART-TIME), ERLANGER LOCATION 

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Northern Kentucky seeks candidates for the position of part-time Development Associate. Reporting to the Advancement Director, the Development Associate will be a critical member of the nonprofit development team and will have the following responsibilities.

  • Assist in the execution of a strategic process for acquiring grants, grant management and foundation reporting, to support the organization’s sustainability and efforts to improve program outcomes for our neighbors in need.
  • Identify opportunities for grant funding, prepare proposals, coordinate internal resources in preparation for proposal submission, and prepare grant reports.
  • Utilize technology to research and analyze program outcomes that illustrate the impact of the ministry for our donors.
  • Engage in day-to-day development activities and operations to meet revenue and performance goals.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of fundraising and awareness-raising events. This position will work with the development team and the event planning committee in soliciting event sponsorships and organizing event details and logistics, and will help create marketing plans to publicize events.

Work schedule is 24 hours per week.  Flexible weekdays and daytime hours, but must be available to work during special events.  Applicants must have previous nonprofit grant writing or related experience and a bachelor’s degree is desired. Other qualifications include strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, highly developed attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. DONATION CENTER ASSOCIATE, COLD SPRING LOCATION

You can be part of our Donation Center Team and the face of the organization to our supporters who donate goods to SVdP. By offering a favorable first impression to our donors, you encourage them to continue to support SVdP.

AVAILABILITY: You will be scheduled Monday’s and Wednesday ‘s for 15 and up to 20 hours. While the hours are not guaranteed, it’s a great opportunity to blend work with your other job. Availability is based on the donations from our generous supporters.

 JOB DUTIES:

  • Valid state driver’s license to safely operate an SVdP vehicle to pick up food rescue.
  • Greet donors and assist in getting their donations.
  • Assist customers in taking purchased merchandise to their cars as needed.
  • Aid in sorting and organizing donations.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Safely operate and handle forklifts as directed.
  • Clean exterior of buildings, remove snow or other hazardous situations as they may develop.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to greet donors and make a good first impression upon their arrival at SVdP.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Able to lift heavier items with assistance.
  • Able to work on feet for the bulk of their assigned shift.
  • Able to understand and fully comply with all company safety directives.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends

RETAIL ASSOCIATE– CASHIER, COLD SPRING LOCATION

You can be part of our popular retail store team and the face of the organization to our supporters and customers. Reporting to our Retail Store Manager, the Cashier is an important part of our organization as he/she provides superior customer service to our customers.  As such he or she plays an important role in creating an environment that will help meet financial objectives to support our ministry and welcome customers to our stores.

AVAILABILITY: You will be scheduled for 10 to 15 hours a week, primarily from midday to closing. While the hours are not guaranteed, it’s a great opportunity to blend work with your other job.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Greet customers on their arrival and thank them on their departure.
  • Accurately handle customer transactions.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment for co-workers and our customers.
  • Assist Retail Store Manager as directed in creating attractive floor displays.
  • Accurately ring up all customer purchases and make sure the money collected is correct.
  • Assist in other thrift stores as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Able to work on feet for the bulk of their assigned shift.
  • Able to understand and fully comply with all company safety directives.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as needed.

RETAIL ASSOCIATE– MERCHANDISER, COLD SPRING LOCATION

Reporting to our Retail Store Manager, the Merchandise Sorter is an important part of our organization as you ensure merchandise we place on our sales floor is clean, in good repair and desired by our customers. You will also provide superior customer service to our customers.  As such, you play an important role in creating an environment that will help meet financial objectives to support our ministry and welcome customers to our stores.

AVAILABILITY: Hours vary during store operating hours with an opportunity for 10-15 hours a week. This is an ideal opportunity for those who wish to balance hours with another job or educational commitment.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Quickly inspect donated merchandise and sort into saleable and discard condition.
  • Take merchandise ready for sale and place it in its proper location on the sales floor.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment for co-workers and our customers.
  • Assist Retail Store manager as directed in creating attractive floor displays.
  • Greet customers on their arrival and thank them on their departure.
