For over 100 years, Vincentian volunteers and supporters have been making Northern Kentucky a special place to call home for our neighbors in need. By providing food, shelter, clothing and many other gifts, those in need find hope that tomorrow will be a brighter day. Your planned gift will help us fulfill our mission for many years to come.
What is a planned gift and why I should consider planned giving?
Planned gifts are a way that St. Vincent de Paul receives your support now and in the future. A planned gift is any financial gift that takes effect in the future or requires a document such as a will or trust. These types of gifts may provide you with immediate tax benefits during your lifetime. And most importantly, they allow you to demonstrate your values and beliefs to your family and community and leave a lasting legacy.
How do I include St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Northern Kentucky in my planned giving?
BEQUEST FROM YOUR WILL OR LIVING TRUST
You can easily make a charitable gift of a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or trust, a specific asset or name the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Northern Kentucky (32-0350542) a residual beneficiary. In addition to a very generous gift, your estate or trust may receive an estate tax deduction.
GIFTS OF STOCK OR BONDS – BENEFICIARY DESIGNATION FROM A RETIREMENT PLAN OR IRA
A wonderful way to help the Society and possibly your income tax liability now is to donate stocks that have more significant appreciated value. The Society receives your gift at today’s value to help our neighbors in need and you may avoid a costly income tax/capital gains liability. Additionally, you can arrange to have an IRA distribution made directly to the Society and may avoid taxes on that income. This contribution works very well for those donors who are now required to take minimum distributions from their accounts. Or please consider designating the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Northern Kentucky (32-0350542) as a beneficiary to receive a deferred gift of your stocks, bonds, retirement plan or IRA.
CHARITABLE GIFT OF LIFE INSURANCE POLICY
By designating the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Northern Kentucky (32-0350542) as beneficiary of your whole life insurance policy you are ensuring that your neighbors in need will be served in the future. You may receive a tax deduction for the premiums you have paid.
Please let us know about your planned gift
We hope that you will tell us when you have named us in your will, trust, retirement plan or insurance policy. We thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness.
There are many charitable planned giving options available to you to ensure that your most treasured values and commitments are part of your legacy. Please consult your attorney or financial advisor on which strategy is best.
